DUTIES:
This position is located in the Biloxi, MS Transitional Recovery Office
(TRO) in Mississippi.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will perform the full range of instructor responsibilities,
including conducting training courses. The position requires the individual to
organize and administer training courses, gather and analyze relevant training
information, and design training courses as needed. The Instructor will provide
computer support to training situations. Additionally, the Instructor will
communicate orally with others to exchange and clarify information, assist in
resolving client problems/issues, and foster ongoing professional development
of training personnel. The Instructor will also exhibit an understanding of
relevant safety and security procedures; prepare written reports and other
documents; and when needed, may fill training Unit Leader position.
Incumbent provides technical assistance as requested on the requirements of
creating, maintaining and evaluating training programs. . The incumbent will
provide administrative and financial management support to the Training staff.
Maintain financial and automated databases necessary to monitor funds to
support training programs. Incumbent will maintain controls and reporting systems
to fully support management decision-making and achieve the training objectives
of the Division Director.
The incumbent will also:
-- Ensure program values are established at the appropriate time frames of 3
months, 6 months and 12 months as required.
-- Attend meetings and confer with officials of other Federal agencies to
gather data concerning the preparation, revision, interpretation, and
application of policies and procedures pertaining to disaster response, and
other training related issues to support the Training Unit Lead Officer and
Director.
-- Prepare responses to a wide variety of correspondence and issue papers,
requiring careful research and preparation of clear and concise replies.
-- Coordinate the review of appropriate programs, including but not limited to,
review of annual reports, quarterly monitoring of work progress, review of
quarterly reports and makes recommendations to the Training Unit Lead Officer
and Section Chief concerning the approval of work products submitted for training
purposes.
The incumbents perform all other Duties and Assignments as required.

techniques, and skill and ability to present classroom instruction.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AT FEMA
EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: FEMA employees may be subject to 24-hour on-call in the event of an emergency. This service may require irregular working hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee`s official position description. Selectee must be able to relocate to emergency sites with little advance notice and function under intense physical and mental stress.
